Botswana Equity Watch | 29th July 2015: Botswana equity markets indices show marginal rise, DCI up 18 bps, market cap lowers…
Gaborone, Botswana (Capital Markets in Africa):- The BSE Equity Markets indices recorded further rises in todays session as the DCI main recorded a marginal spurt and local LASI indices recorded a slight increase also. Market capitalisation saw a further downshift. The FCI index continued with no changes recorded over the last few days.
The Botswana Domestic Composite Index (DCI) recorded a rise to close at BWP 10,854.50 up 18 points (+0.16 percent) from its previous close of 10836.76 .
The Foreign Composite Index (FCI) however continued flat today registering no change of -0.00 percent to persist at 1571.76 which has been recorded in previous sessions.
The Local Asset Sector Index (LASI) recorded a change closing at 799.25 08, a 0.17 points rise from its previous close of 799.08 (LASI is made up of the domestic companies and all foreign companies awarded the local asset status by the Ministry of Finance and development planning.)
From a market activity perspective, the daily volume settled at 224,204 shares traded which were exchanged from the 25,712 million Securities issued bringing the turnover of those shares traded to BWP 1,228 million.
The equity market capitalization settled at BWP 422,103 million recorded at the end of the day’s session.
Looking at the price movers’, there were 2 Domestic companies that recorded price changes to the green zone. Moving towards the green zone were LETSHEGO up BWP 3 to close at BWP 329 per share and TURNSTAR up BWP 3 to close the day at BWP 275 per share.
