Cote D’Ivoire Stock Markets | 09 Oct 2015: BRVM Equity Ends Higher, Market Cap US$30 Million Surge ….
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Capital Markets in Africa — BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session this Friday higher than the previous day. BRVM 10 index rose from 302.38 to 303.32 points, a gain of 0.31 percent. BRVM Composite index gained 0.24 percent at 301.99 points against 301.28 points previously.
The equity market capitalization soared by XOF 17.67 billion (about US$30 million) to close at XOF 7,452 billion relative to previous trading sessions’ market capitalization of XOF 7,434 billion.
The market activity measured by total volume was recorded at 53,795 traded stocks relative to 83,275 recorded at previous trading sessions. The total traded value was at XOF 1,949.922 million (against XOF 2,693.667 million recorded at previous trading session) exchanged in 33 traded securities via 262 deals. Today’s top stock by volume was ONATEL BURKINA FASO with 23,314 traded securities (accounted for about 28.00 percent of the total volume). ONATEL BURKINA FASO recorded the highest total traded value of XOF 287.577 million contributing nearly14.75 percent of total traded value. The Liquidity ratio (measured by Volume traded/ Ask orders volume) ended at 3.98 percent and Price Earnings Ratio was recorded at 22.24.
From the market movers’ angle, out of the 33 traded securities today, 10 stocks experienced price gains, 13 witnessed price drops and 10 stocks price remained unchanged relative to previous closing price. TRACTAFRIC MOTORS COTE D’IVOIRE emerged as the top price advancers by gaining 7.50 percent to end at XOF 316,910. PALM COTE D’IVOIRE surged by 5.52 percent at XOF 15,300 and FILTISAC COTE D’IVOIRE ended at XOF 28,000 after adding 3.51 percent. BICI COTE D’IVOIRE share price climbed by 0.89 percent to close at XOF 102,000 and SAPH COTE D’IVOIRE with a closing price of XOF 11,700 after rising by 0.86 percent.
On the contrary, UNIWAX COTE D’IVOIRE slacked by 3.35 percent to settle at XOF 28,995 as the biggest loser and VIVO ENERGY COTE D’IVOIRE slipped by 2.06 percent to trade at XOF 71,005. SICABLE COTE D’IVOIRE plunged by 1.96 percent to close at XOF 100,000 and TOTAL COTE D’IVOIRE tumbled by 1.07 percent to trade at XOF 23,500. CIE COTE D’IVOIRE traded at XOF 81,500 after losing 0.61 percent.
From the sector indices viewpoints, the industry sector index fell by 0.19 percent at 161.65 points but public utilities sector index added 0.40 percent to end at 838.89 points. Also, financial services sector index soared by 0.09 percent to end at 109.88 points but distribution sector index slipped by 0.26 percent to end at 557.50 points. The agriculture sector index advanced by 2.88 percent to close at 197.16 points but transportation sector index sagged by 0.50 percent to settle at 946.33 points while miscellaneous sector index remained unchanged to close at 638.27 points.
