Cote D’Ivoire Stock Markets | 9 Sep 2015: Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières closes green, transportation sector gains 2.38%
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Capital Markets in Africa — BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session this Wednesday, higher than the previous day. BRVM 10 index rose from 295.41 to 295.58 points, a gain of 0.06 percent. BRVM Composite index gained 0.06 percent to 295.29 against 295.12 points previously.
The equity market capitalization gained XOF 5 billion (about US$9.3 million) to close at XOF 7,287 billion relative to previous trading sessions’ market capitalization of XOF 7,282 billion.
The market activity measured by total volume was recorded at 119,855 traded stocks relative to 224,063 recorded at previous trading sessions. The total traded value was at XOF 1,839.834 million (against XOF 2,438.424 million recorded at previous trading session) exchanged in 32 traded securities via 243 deals. Today’s top stock by volume was ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED TOGO with 65,099 traded securities (accounted for almost 53 percent of the total volume). SONATEL SENEGAL recorded the highest total traded value of XOF 677.649 million contributing nearly 37 percent of total traded value. The Liquidity ratio (measured by Volume traded/ Ask orders volume) ended at 6.46 percent and Price Earnings Ratio was recorded at 23.24.
Out of the 32 traded securities today, 12 stocks experienced price gains, 12 witnessed price drops and 8 stocks price remained unchanged relative to previous closing price. CROWN SIEM COTE D’IVOIRE emerged as the top price mover after adding 6.96 percent to end at XOF 29,750. SGB COTE D’IVOIRE grew by 2.78 percent at XOF 109,995 and SITAB COTE D’IVOIRE traded at XOF 156,005 after climbing by 2.63 percent. BOLLORE AFRICA LOGISTIC COTE D’IVOIRE share price soared by 2.43 percent to close at XOF 190,000 and SOGB COTE D’IVOIRE closed at XOF 26,995 with 1.87 percent gains.
On the losers’ table, SICOR COTE D’IVOIRE sagged by 6.77 percent to settle at XOF 8,200 as the biggest loser and CIE COTE D’IVOIRE fell by 2.38 percent to trade at XOF 82,005. TOTAL COTE D’IVOIRE slumped by 2.04 percent to close at XOF 24,000 and BANK OF AFRICA SENEGAL tumbled by 1.75 percent to trade at XOF 84,000. BANK OF AFRICA BENIN settled at XOF 122,000 after declining by 1.45 percent.
From the sector indices viewpoints, the industry sector index grew by 1.09 percent at 165.24 points but public utilities sector index sagged by 0.21 percent to end at 804.08 points. The distribution sector index fell by 1.26 percent to end at 549.66 points but financial services sector index rose by 0.32 percent to end at 108.45 points. Agriculture sector index grew by 0.07 percent to trade at 197.43 points. Miscellaneous sector index remained unchanged to close at 555.56 but Transportation sector ended at 925.22 points after adding 2.38 percent.
