Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):-The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) Industrial Index price fall deepened today as the counters closed trading down while the Mining index continued to remain flat at the end of the days session. Market capitalisation was also down by US$25 million against the previous days trading. The ZSE Industrial Index lost -0.96 points to close at 143.64 points decreasing by 0.56% from its previous close of 144.60 yesterday (-11.76% year-to-date and -24.58% year-on-year basis). The Mining Index continued on its steady path recording no change and holding at the sessions close with 39.36 points (keeping the year-to-date at -45.11% and year-on-year return at -58.32% respectively).
The Market Capitalisation ended atUS$3,768 billion down US$25 million from the US$3,793 billion recorded yesterday. The market activity was however buoyant with 72 trade transactions producing a turnover of US$1,283,598 as opposed to the US$153,018 million exchanged yesterday. In terms of Foreign Buys and Sales, Foreign investors bought US$726,278 against foreign sales which came to US$1,176,948 at the end of today’s trading sessions. The highest purchases by foreign investors were Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited with US$351,486 worth of purchases and no sales at US$30.31 per share, Delta corporation Limited with US$245,415 purchases at US$61.75 and Innscor Africa Limited (INN.zw) with US$122,104 purchases at US$61.75.
In terms of Volumes and value of trades, out of the 72 securities traded, OK Zimbabwe registered 6,189,424 traded securities at US$8.19 per share with a value of US$506,914, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited registered 1,159,451 traded securities at US$30.31 per share with a value of US$351,430, Delta Corporation Limited recorded 299,705 securities at US$97 to end up with a value of US$290,714. Innscor Africa Limited recorded volumes of 197,739 securities at US$61.75 per share to end with a value of US$122,104.
Today’s gainers were Meikles zimbabwe limited rising 0.47 points increasing by 5.22% to close at US$0.0947 and Dairibord Holdings Limited edging up 0.20 points an increase of 2.56% to close at US$0.0800. Also OK Zimbabwe increased by 2.37% up 0.19 points to close at US$0.0819 per share. On the losers side were Turnall Holdings Limited which lost -0.08 points decreasing by -7.40% to close at US$0.0100, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited down 0.69 points down by -2.22% to close at US$0.3031 and Delta Corporation Limited down -1.98 points losing by -2.00% to close at US$0.9700.
