Mauritius Market Watch | June 11th 2015: Mauritius equity market continues its uptrend runs, market cap adds MUR 169 million
Port Louis, Mauritius (Capital Markets in Africa):- Mauritius equity market continued its uptrend runs on Thursday, the SEMDEX index surged by 0.08 percent or 1.52 points to reach 1,978.09 points and the Sem-10 climbed by 0.16 percent or 0.61 points to 376.82 points. The market capitalization was recorded at MUR 219.918 billion, by adding MUR 169 million (against MUR 219.749 billion recorded yesterday) and overall total volume trade recorded at 18.839 million and turnover amounted to MUR 40.420 million. SBM Holdings Limited recorded 18.29 million volume and turnover of MUR 16.954 million and CIM FINANCIAL Limited recorded 157,000 traded securities valued at MUR 1.540 million. Equally, TERRA recorded 150,100 traded stocks and turnover recorded at MUR 4.928 million.
The market sentiment was negative today, as the market breadth (advancer/decliners ratio) calculated at 0.46x with 3 gainers and 6 losers. The three price gainers were MAURITUS UNION ASSURANCE surged by 1.30 percent to close at MUR 78.00, SMB Holdings Mauritius advanced by 1.08 percent to settle at MUR 0.94 and ENL LAND Limited Mauritius speeded up 0.22 percent to trade at MUR 45.60. On the other hand, INNODIS Limited and POLICY Mauritius plunged by 3.32 percent and 0.84 percent with closing price of MUR 51.00 and MUR 7.10 respectively. Likewise, VIVO Energy Limited Mauritius nose-dive by 0.78 percent to close at MUR 127.00 and ROBERS plummeted by 0.68 percent to close at MUR 29.30.
On the DEM counter, the DEMEX index plunged by 0.20 percent to close at 204.46 points and market capitalization of MUR 48.594 billion (lost MUR 95 million) and market turnover of MUR 13.740 million on volume of 415,245. The losers were ENL Limited (P), LES MOULINS (O) and MEDINE Limited nose-dive by 4.59 percent, 4.52 percent and 1.59 percent to close at MUR 27.00, MUR 148 and MUR 62.00 respectively. While QUALITY BEVERAGE added 20.00 percent to conclude at MUR 7.92, MED & SUG Limited surged by 2.04 percent to conclude at MUR 2.50 and FIDES climbed by 0.46 percent to settle at MUR 22.00.
