Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — the bear mood persisted at the end of today’s trading session, hence the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index declined by 0.45 percent or 0.62 points to end at 135.47 points. The ZSE Industrial index retreated by 0.68 points or 0.50 percent on a week-on-week basis.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.533 billion by losing US$4 million relative to market capitalization of US$3.549 billion recorded at the previous trading session. The Zimbabwe equity markets sagged by US$22 million from the market capitalization relative to last Friday’s market capitalization of US$3.555 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$424,348 (an increase relative to 381,764 recorded at previous session) exchanged in 14 traded securities via 34 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys US$260,041 and foreign sells US$307,202 today. Among the 14 traded securities, Innscor Africa Limited recorded at US$195,074 exchanged in 325,855 traded securities and Delta Corporation Limited recorded US$115,103 exchanged in 135,831 traded stocks. Equally, NicozDiamond Insurance Limited with 821,936 shares valued at US$11,507 and Edgars Strores Limited recorded 321,605 shares with total value of US$25,728.
From the market activities strength views, there were two price gainers, nine price losers and three prices remained unchanged, hence market strength ended negative. The price gainers were Padenga Holdings Limited ended at US$0.0940 after adding 4.44 percent or U$0.0040 and NMBZ Holdings Limited closed at US$0.0361 after gaining 0.27 percent or US$ 0.001.
On the contrary, Meikles Limited sagged by 7.32 percent or US$0.0086 to close at US$0.1100 and First Mutual Holdings Limited closed at US$0.0200 after losing 6.10 percent or US$0.0013. Econet Wireless Limited Zimbabwe reduced by 3.50 percent to settle at US$0.2702 and NicozDiamond Insurance Limited ended at US$0.0140 after falling by 2.77 percent. OK Zimbabwe (-2.77 percent at US$0.0700), Masholand Holding Limited (-0.99 percent at US$0.0200), Dawn Properties Limited (-0.59 percent to end at US$0.0166), Delta Corporation Limited (-0.30 percent at US$0.8474) and Innscor Africa Limited tumbled by 0.03 percent to trade at US$0.5950.
The Mining index stayed unchanged to close at 32.97 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0250, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0280, US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0040. However, the mining index on week-on-week lost 2.37 points or 6.71 percent.
