Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa – The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index continued its losing streak in todays trading session closing at 134.55 points down 0.29 points or 0.22 percent. The ZSE Industrial index had the year-to- Date down 17.34 percent with the year on year average down 34.00 percent.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.519 billion by losing US$8 million relative to market capitalization of US$3.527 billion recorded at the previous trading session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$1,436,910 exchanged in 15 traded securities via 47 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys registered US$1,224,622 and foreign sells US$1,182,461 today. Among the 15 traded securities, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$699,295 exchanged in 2,589,983 traded securities, Dairibord Holdings Limited recorded US$120,150 exchanged in 1,500,000 traded securities, Nampak Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$19,330 exchanged in 938,349 traded stocks. Equally, Powerspeed Electrical Limited with 924,967 shares valued at US$20,349 and Delta Corporation Limited recorded 601,698 shares with total value of US$509,939.
From the market activities strength views, there were four price gainers, five price losers, the market strength therefore ended negative. The price gainers were Falcon Gold Limited ended at US$0.050 after adding 25 percent or U$0.010, Dairibord Holdings Limited ended at US$0.0801 after adding 6.80 percent or U$0.051 and OK Zimbabwe Limited increased by 1.42 percent to end at US$0.0710.
On the contrary, the losers were Nampak Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.0206 after losing 0.43 points or 17.26 percent, Turnall Holdings Limited declined by 0.10 points or 10 percent to close at US$0.0090, and Padenga Holdings Limited reduced by 0.39 percent to settle at US$0.0880
The Mining index recorded an increase of 27 percent or 0.08 points to close at 29.10 points today. Falcon Gold Limited traded at US$0.0050, while Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively.
