Zimbabwe Equity Markets | 1 Oct 2015: ZSE Industrial Index continues to trade lower, Market cap loses US$12 Mill….
Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index continued trading lower today decreasing by 0.0014 points to close at 131.79 down 0.10 percent from its close recorded in the previous weeks trading session. The ZSE Industrial index was down to 19.04 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalisation ended at US$3.440 billion losing almost US$12 million compared to the US$3.452 billion recorded in the previous session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$475,552 exchanged in 14 traded securities via 27 trade transactions. No Foreign investor buys were recorded today while foreign sales totalled US$281.
In terms of values and volumes traded among the 11 traded securities, CBZ Holdings Limited totalled US$450,141 exchanged in 5,001,562 traded securities, Meikles Limited recorded US$8,585 exchanged in 95,390 traded stocks and Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited recorded US$986 exchanged in 73,014 traded stocks. Equally, TSL Limited recorded 60,000 shares valued at US$10,500, Zimre Corporation Limited recorded 23,750 shares valued at US$214, and Barclays bank of Zimbabwe Limited recorded 17,880shares with a total value of US$787.
In terms of market activity/market strength, there were five price gainers and five price losers with four prices that remained unchanged, hence the market strength ended neutral. The price gainers were Zimre Property Investment Limited closed at US$0.0090 after increasing by 12.50 percent or US$ 0.0010. CBZ Holdings Limited closed at US$0.0900 after gaining by 7.14 percent or US$ 0.0060. Barclays bank of Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.0440 after gaining by 1.85 percent or US$ 0.008. Innscor Africa Limited closed at US$0.60 after gaining by 1.69 percent or US$ 0.01. Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.27 after gaining by 1.12percent or US$ 0.0030.
The price losers were Meikles Limited closed at US$0.0900 after losing by 10.00 percent or US$ 0.0010. Edgars Stores Limited decreased by 7.20 percent or US$0.0054 to close at US$0.0696, Pandenga Holdings Limited decreased by 5.64 percent or US$0.0048 to close at US$0.0802, Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited ended at US$0.004 after losing by 3.57 percent or U$0.0135. Delta Corporation Limited lost by 1.20 percent or US$0.01 to close at US$0.82.
The Mining index was down with the index falling 1.60 percent to close at 23.97 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded lower at US$0.0135 after losing US$0.0010, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
