Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index was lower at 133.94 points after falling by 0.14 points or 0.010 percent down from 134.08 points recorded at the end of the last session. The ZSE Industrial index went down by 17.72 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.503 billion after losing US$ 4 million relative to previous market capitalization of US$3.507 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$360,933 exchanged in 15 traded securities via 30 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys totalled US$233,633 and foreign sales were US$120,485 today. Among the 15 traded securities, OK Zimbabwe Limited recorded at US$142,528 exchanged in 2,192,746 traded securities and Dairibord Holdings Limited recorded US$120, 903 exchanged in 1,453,163 traded stocks. Equally, Masimba Holdings Limited recorded 3,861 shares valued at US$386,149, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded 97,529 shares with a total value of US$26,440 and Delta Corporation Limited had 79,000 shares with a value of US$59,325.
From the market activities strength view, there were five price gainers, three price losers and eleven prices that remained unchanged, hence market strength ended positive. The price gainers were Turnall Holdings Limited closed at US$0.080 after gaining 14.28 percent or US$ 0.0010, NicozDiamond Insurance Limited ended at US$0.0170 after adding 13.33 percent or U$0.0020, Fidelity Life Assurance Limited closed at US$0.0850 after gaining 8.97 percent or US$ 0.0070 and Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited ended at US$0.00270 after adding 0.11 percent and US$0.003.
On the contrary, NMBZ Holdings Limited sagged by 11.11 percent or US$0.0040 to close at US$0.00320, OK Zimbabwe Limited went down by 7.14 percent or US$0.0050 to end at US$0.00650 and Nampak Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.270 after losing 0.48 percent or US$0.0001.
The Mining index stayed unchanged to close at 29.10 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0200, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
