Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index was up by 0.006 points or 0.04 percent to close at 134 points recorded at the end of todays session. The ZSE Industrial index stood at 17.68 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.500 billion after losing US$ 3 million relative to previous market capitalization of US$3.503 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$1,119,266 exchanged in 14 traded securities via 40 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys totalled US$1,009,817 and foreign sales were US$929,829 today.
Among the 14 traded securities, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded at US$701,527 exchanged in 2,551,706 traded securities, Padenga Holdings Limited recorded US$147,867 exchanged in 1,642.962 traded stocks and Fidelity Life Assurance Limited recorded US$96,778 exchanged in 1,018,719 traded stocks. Equally, First Mutual Holdings Limited recorded 338,948 shares valued at US$7,220, Power Speed Electrical Limited recorded 138,409 shares with a total value of US$3,045 and Speed Co Limited had 120,204 shares with a value of US$120,204.
From the market activities strength view, there were four price gainers, four price losers and eleven prices that remained unchanged, hence market strength ended positive. The price gainers were Fidelity Life Assurance Limited closed at US$0.095 after gaining 11.76 percent or US$ 0.0100, Padenga Holdings Limited ended at US$0.009 after adding 2.04 percent or U$0.0018, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited ended at US$0.00275 after adding 1.43 percent and US$0.039 and FBZ Holdings Limited closed at US$0.00710 after gaining 1.42 percent or US$ 0.0090.
On the contrary, Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited sagged by 0.40 percent or US$0.0040 to close at US$0.00320, TSL Limited went down by 4.16 percent or US$0.0075 to end at US$0.01725 and Barclays Bank Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.270 after losing 0.48 percent or US$0.0001.
The Mining index stayed unchanged to close at 29.10 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0160, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
