Zimbabwe Equity Markets | 18 Sep 2015: ZSE Industrial Index down, foreign sales outstrip foreign buys, market cap drops US$3 mill….
Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index was down by 0.0014 points or 0.11 percent to close at 133.83 points with foreign sales outstripping foreign buys in the days session. The ZSE Industrial index stood at 17.78 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.496 billion after losing US$ 3 million relative to previous market capitalization of US$3.499 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$533,884 exchanged in 10 traded securities via 26 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys totalled US$361,516 and foreign sales were US$502,187 today. Foreign trading was dominated by foreign Investor buys lead by CBZ Zimbabwe Limited at US$0.0085, Seed Co Limited at US$0.0100, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited at US$0.00275 Padenga Holdings Limited at US$0.0090 and OK Zimbabwe Limited at US$0.00630.
Among the 10 traded securities, Pearl Properties Limited recorded at US$236,558 exchanged in 10,752,617 traded securities, CBZ Holdings Limited recorded US$89,400 exchanged in 1,000,000 traded stocks and Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$15,019 exchanged in 346,853 traded stocks. Equally, Dawn Properties Limited recorded 213,276 shares valued at US$3,668, Seed Co Limited recorded 34,543 shares with a total value of US$34,543 and British American Tobacco Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.0620 after losing 3.07 percent or US$0.0020.
From the market activities strength view, there were three price gainers, four price losers and one price that remained unchanged, hence market strength ended negative. The price gainers were Zimre Property Investments Limited closed at US$0.0010 after gaining 10.00 percent or US$ 0.0110, Dawn Properties Limited ended at US$0.00172 after adding 0.58 percent or U$0.0001. Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.0433 after gaining 0.46 percent or US$ 0.002.
On the losers side, Meikles Limited decreased by 9.09 percent or US$0.001 to close at US$0.0010, Pearl Properties Limited fell by 8.33 percent or US$0.0020 to close at US$0.00220, British American Tobacco closed at US$11.70 after losing 0.42 percent or US$0.005, CBZ Holdings Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.0894 after losing 0.22 percent or US$0.002.
The Mining index stayed unchanged to close at 29.10 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0160, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
