Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index was down by 0.0073 points or 0.54 percent to close at 132.88 points after trading in the days session. The ZSE Industrial index stood at 18.37 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.471 billion relative to previous market capitalization of US$3.496 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$574,545 exchanged in 17 traded securities via 38 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys totalled US$357,668 and foreign sales were US$5342,667 today. Foreign trading was dominated by foreign Investor buys led by Seed Co Limited at US$0.0100, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited at US$0.027, Meikles Limited at US$0.0100, Pearl Properties Limited at US$0.00220 and First Mutual at US$0.00210 and Lafarge Limited Zimbabwe at US$0.0037.
Among the 17 traded securities, Pearl Properties Limited totalled US$25,626 exchanged in 1,164,821 traded securities, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$263,719 exchanged in 976,737 traded stocks and First Mutual Holdings Limited recorded US$9,205 exchanged in 438,332 traded stocks. Equally, Meikles Limited recorded 316,813 shares valued at US$3,1681, Willdale Limited recorded 200,000 shares valued at US$380 and Seed Co Limited recorded 158,256 shares with a total value of US$158,256.
From the market activities strength view, there were two price gainers, five price losers and seven price that remained unchanged, hence market strength ended negative. The price gainers were Lafarge Limited Zimbabwe closed at US$0.0037 after gaining 5.71 percent or US$ 0.002 and Dawn Properties Limited ended at US$0.00173 after adding 0.57 percent or U$0.0001.
On the losers side, Colcom Limited decreased by 13.04 percent or US$0.003 to close at US$0.0020, Pro Plastics Limited fell by 7.69 percent or US$0.0020 to close at US$0.0069, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.027 after losing 1.81 percent or US$0.0050.
The Mining index stayed unchanged to close at 29.10 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0160, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
