Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index was down by 0.0047 points or 0.37 percent to close at 131.50 points after trading in the days session. The ZSE Industrial index stood at 19.22 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalisation ended at US$3.434 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$286,230 exchanged in 11 traded securities via 11 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys totalled US$101,762 and foreign sales were US$79,020 today. Foreign trading was dominated by foreign Investor buys led by Seed Co Limited at US$0.009950, Delta Corporation Limited at US$0.08252, Padenga Holdings Limited at US$0.00850 and Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited at US$0.00150.
In terms of values and volumes traded among the 11 traded securities, CBZ Holdings Limited totalled US$174,665 exchanged in 1,978,087 traded securities, Delta Corporation Limited recorded US$55,742 exchanged in 67,550 traded stocks and Seed Co Limited recorded US$49,750 exchanged in 50,000 traded stocks. Equally, Padenga Holdings Limited recorded 29,548 shares valued at US$2,512, Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited recorded 100,000 shares valued at US$1,500 and British American Tobacco Zimbabwe Limited recorded 45 shares with a total value of US$520.
In terms of market activity/market strength, there were no price gainers, however the session witnessed seven price losers with prices that remained unchanged, hence the market strength ended negative. The price losers were Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited closed at US$0.00150 after losing by 6.25 percent or US$ 0.00150 and Padenga Holdings Limited ended at US$0.00850 after losing 5.55 percent or U$0.0050. Willdale Limited decreased by 5.26 percent or US$0.001 to close at US$0.0018, British American Tobacco Zimbabwe Limited fell by 1.28 percent or US$0.0015 to close at US$11.55, CBZ Holdings Limited closed at US$0.0883 after losing 0.78 percent or US$0.007.
The Mining index was down by 3.04 percent to close at 25.15 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded lower at US$0.0150 after losing US$0.0010, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
