Zimbabwe Equity Markets | 5 Oct 2015: ZSE Industrial Index sheds 0.11%, Market cap drops a further US$13 Mill….
Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index traded lower today shedding 0.0014 points to close at 131.30 down 0.11 percent down from its close recorded in the previous trading session. The ZSE Industrial index recorded 19.34 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalisation ended at US$3.427 billion losing almost US$13 million compared to the US$3.440 billion recorded in the previous session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$19,988 exchanged in 8 traded securities via 26 trade transactions. One Foreign investor buy was recorded today by Delta Corp for US$380 while foreign sales totalled US$900 for Padenga Holdings Limited.
In terms of values and volumes traded among the 8 traded securities, Barclays bank of Zimbabwe Limited recorded 80,638 shares with a total value of US$3,516, Delta Corporation Limited totalled US$9,971 exchanged in 9,971 traded securities, Padenga Holdings Limited recorded US$918 exchanged in 11,470 traded stocks and Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$2,326 exchanged in 8,613 traded stocks. Equally, Dairibord Holdings Limited recorded 3,100 shares valued at US$257, Innscor Africa Limited recorded 1,560 shares valued at US$940, and Seed Co Limited recorded 17,880 shares with a total value of US$787.
In terms of market activity/market strength, there were two price gainers and four price losers with four prices that remained unchanged, hence the market strength ended neutral. The price gainers were Innscor Africa Limited closed at US$0.6025 after increasing by 0.41 percent or US$ 0.0025. British American Tobacco Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$11.65 after gaining by 0.06 percent or US$ 0.0079.
The price losers were Pandenga Holdings Limited decreased by 3.38 percent or US$0.0027 to close at US$0.0800 Barclays bank of Zimbabwe Limited decreased by 0.90 percent or US$0.0004 to close at US$0.0436, Delta Corporation Limited lost by 0.29 percent or US$0.23 to close at US$0.8126, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited ended at US$0.27 after losing by 0.03 percent or U$0.0001.
The Mining index recorded no change with the index remaining flat at 0.00 percent to close at 23.97 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0135, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
