Zimbabwe Equity Markets | 8 Oct 2015: ZSE Industrial Index continues in bear, Telecoms stock only riser, Market Cap down by US$8 Mill….
Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index continued in bear sentiment as it recorded further losses today losing 0.0031 points to close 131.18 points, down by 0.24 percent with Telecoms stock recording the only price rise. The ZSE Industrial index year-to-date settled at 19.41 percent.
The market capitalisation ended at US$3,424 billion down by almost US$8 million compared to the US$3.432 billion recorded in the previous session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$2,284 exchanged in 13 traded securities via 66 trade transactions. Five Foreign investor buys were recorded today by Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited for US$1,035,027, Delta Corporation Limited for US$455,666, OK Zimbabwe Limited for US$140,000 and Innscor Africa Limited for US$115,255 while there were foreign sales of US$20,000 for CBZ Holdings Limited and foreign sales of US$3,991 for Dawn Properties Limited.
In terms of values and volumes traded among the 13 traded securities, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited totalled US$1,272,998 exchanged in 4,714,807 traded securities, OK Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$263,918 exchanged in 4,398,631 traded stocks, Delta Corporation Limited totalled US$455,666 exchanged in 562,551 traded securities and Dawn Properties Limited recorded US$4,041 exchanged in 243,437 traded stocks.
Equally, CBZ Holdings Limited recorded 229,985 shares valued at US$22,999 and Innscor Africa Limited recorded 117,209 shares with a total value of US$195,308.
In terms of market activity/market strength, there was one price gainer and four price loser with three prices that remained unchanged, hence the market strength ended positive. The price gainer was Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.23 after increasing by 0.11 percent.
The price losers were Willdale Limited which decreased by 88.88 percent or US$0.0016 to close at US$0.0002. TSL Limited decreased by 1.42 percent or US$0.0025 to close at US$0.1725, Hippo Valley Estates Limited decreased by 1.28 percent or US$0.0050 to close at US$0.3850, Innscor Africa Limited decreased by 1.12 percent or US$0.00068 to close at US$0.600, .
The Mining index remained neutral to close at 23.57 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0130 down by 0.05 points or 3.70 percent, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
