Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):-The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) Industrial Index closed trading down today while the Mining index continued to remain flat in the days session. Market capitalisation was also down by US$21 million against the previous days trading.
The ZSE Industrial Index lost -0.81 points to close at 144.60 points from its previous close of 145.42 to end decreasing by 0.56% (-11.17% year-to-date and -23.70% year-on-year basis).
The Mining Index continued on its steady path recording no change once again and holding at the sessions close with 39.36 points (keeping the year-to-date at -45.11% and year-on-year return at -58.32% respectively).
The Market Capitalisation ended atUS$3,793 million down from the US$3,814 billion recorded yesterday. The market activity was also down with 30 trade transactions producing a turnover of US$153,018 as opposed to the US$ 218,190 million exchanged yesterday.
In terms of Foreign Buys and Sales, Foreign investors bought US$32,488 against foreign sales which came to US$43,989 at the end of today’s trading sessions.
The highest purchases by foreign investors were Innscor Africa Limited (INN.zw) with US$32,061 purchases at US$61.34 and Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited (ECO.zw) with US$427 worth of purchases and no sales at US$31 per share.
In terms of Volumes and value of trades, out of the 30 securities traded, CBZ Holdings registered 200,000 traded securities at US$9.98 per share with a value of US$19,960, Barclays Bank Zimbabwe Limited (BARC.zw) registered 154,400 traded securities at US$4.30 per share with a value of US$6,682, Innscor Africa Limited (INN.zw) recorded volumes of 52,269 securities at US$61.34 per share to end with a value of US$32,062. Delta Corporation Limited (DLTA.zw) recorded 47,343 securities at US$98.98 to end up with a value of US$46,860.
Todays gainers were Meikles zimbabwe limited (MEIK.zw) rising 0.46 points increasing by 5.38% to close at US$9.00 and British American Tobacco Zimbabwe (BAT.zw) edging up 5.00 points an increase of 0.43% to close at US$1,160.00.
On the losers side were Willdale Limited (WILD.zw) which lost -0.01 points decreasing by -5.00% to close at US$0.19, OK Zimbabwe (OKZ.zw) losing -0.19 points down by -2.43% to close at US$8.00, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited (ECO.zw) down -0.75 points down by -2.36% to close at US$31.00, Innscor Africa Limited (INN.zw) dropping -1.31 points a loss of -2.10% to close at US$61.34, Delta Corporation Limited (DLTAzw) down -0.51 points losing by -0.52% to close at US$98.98 and Mashonaland Holdings Limited doiwn -0.01 points decreasing by -0.49% to close at US$2.00.
