Zimbabwe Market Watch | 9th July 2015: Zimbabwe industrial index sheds blood, down 1.14 points, mining up 2.70 points and market cap sits at US$3.77..
Harare, Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):– The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index entered the red zone today while the Mining Index come up bullish into the green zone.
The Industrial index was down 1.14 points decreasing by 0.78 percent to end at 144.63 points, bringing the year-to-date to -11.15 percent and -23.01 for the year-on-year basis.
The Mining index however, was up by 2.70 points, a increase of -6.85 percent to settle at 42.09 recovering from the 39.39 points set yesterday (-41.30 percent and -23.92 percent year-to-date and year-on-year return respectively).
The market capitalization ended at US$ 3.777 million while the market activity recorded a volume Turnover of US$729,426 via 41 trade transactions up from the US$705,309 recorded in the previous days session. Investment by Foreign investors recorded as Foreign buys were US$538,207 while foreign sales of US$350,217 was registered at end of today’s trading session. Delta Corporation Ltd and Econet Wireless Corporation Ltd recorded the highest foreign trading volumes of 284,500 for a value of US$278,810 and 200,000 for a value of US$70,000 respectively.
Out of the 41 traded made, Meikles Ltd led the market activity with 611,600 securities traded with a value of US$48,928 at a price of US$8.0. This was followed by Bindura Nickel Corporation Ltd with 511,400 Shares traded at US$3.20 giving a value of US$17,899. Dairibord Holdings Ltd weighed in with volume purchases of 307,300 traded securities with a value of US$24,584 at a price of US$8.0.
In terms of the market price advancers and decliners, five securities ended in the green region and four ended in the red region leaving the price movement weighted in favor of the greens. In the green zone Bindura Nickel Corporation Ltd gained 0.30 points or went by 9.37 percent to trade at US$3.50, CFI Holdings Ltd was up 0.10 points an increase of 4 percent to close at US$2.60. Mashonaland Holdings went up 0.01, OLD MUTUAL was up 1.25 points increasing by 0.45 percent to close at US$274.50 cents.
Leading the price losers were, First Mutual Holdings Ltd tumbling -38 points, a -15.83 percent drop losing to settle at 2.02 cents, Dawn Properties Ltd were down by -0.20 points, decreasing -12.50 percent to settle at US$1.40, Powerspeed Electrical dropped -0.20 points, decreasing -2.85 percent to settle at US2.20 while Delta CORPORATION dropped -2.00 points to settle at US£ , a decrease of -200 percent.
